Announcing ‘The Duke’s Emporium’: my new mini shop.

The Duke’s Emporium.

I have always enjoyed going to Battler’s Green, close to Radlett and Elstree, to escape from London quickly (I can drive it in 20 minutes; it is even quicker by train) and stand somewhere I can look out to pastures, animals and enjoy the peace; but also some great shopping!
From the Farm Shop, to Fired Earth, I always find something to buy; but it is when I hit the beautiful vintage store ‘The Hertfordshire Craft Collective’, that I always find something to treasure. There are mini shops selling well curated pieces: from deco crockery, to industrial furniture; from beautiful ballgowns, to books and bakelite, through to knitting circle accoutrements and kitchenalia, as well as so much more.
Having finally accepted that whatever I buy is not the last thing I shall ever purchase and that I might really enjoy the circle of selling some things to make space for new (to me) treats, I have set up a mini shop, named in honour of my son Dukey: ‘The Duke’s Emporium’. There you can find some of my 1930’s hand embroidered tablecloths, some vintage children’s furniture, clothes, games and books, as well as a Bill Gibb skirt, beautiful crockery, Kate Bush and Elvis Presley treasures and so much more.
I feel that this is the start of ‘The Duke’s Emporium’: watch this space – but I have a feeling this is something I shall love, nurture and develop, as a lovely sideline sidekick to my styling career.
At the ‘Hertfordshire Craft Collective’, Suzanne and Jason always meet customers, with a warm smile and helpful kindness: with proper, fantastic one-on-one boutique customer service, so I really do hope you get a chance to go there and enjoy the space and possibly even buy something from ‘The Duke’s Emporium’, before it all sells out!
